Chennai, Feb 26 (UNI) Practicing advocates in the court of Principal Special Judge, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, today decided to boycott court proceedings in protest against the alleged harassment meted out to them.

About 48 advocates headed by T S Sasikumar submitted a signed memorandum to Madras High Court Chief Justice A P Shah in this regard.

In the memorandum, they listed out a series of allegations against the Judge, who they alleged was treating the Advocates badly and addressing them in singular terms.

They also alleged that the Judge was speaking against women advocates in a derogatory manner and decided to boycott the proceedings in the court of the Principal Special Judge.

The advocates also gave a copy of the petition to the Madras High Court Advocates Association (MHAA) President, All India Bar Council Chairman, President of Law Association and the President of Women's Law Association.
