Deer populace in an Eastern Indian Park on a rise

Jharkhand, Feb 23, 2008 : The proliferating deer population in a park in Chandrapura in India's eastern Jharkhand state has forced the Central Zoo Authority to shift them to a suitable forest area.

The deer residing in the park run by the Damodar Valley Corporation are facing a major threat to their lives. The license of the deer park is renewed every three years. But now the authorities have declined to renew the license, causing discontent among park authorities.
