UHBVN improves collection efficiency
Chandigarh, Feb 25 (UNI) The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has achieved 8.48 per cent increase in collection efficiency and 6.63 per cent reduction in Aggregated Transmission and Commercial losses upto December, 2007 during the current fiscal year as compared to the period from April to December, 2006.
Giving details, a spokesman said here today that the collection efficiency has gone up from 83.76 per cent to 92.24 per cent and reduction in AT and C losses had been brought down from 40.51 per cent to 33.88 per cent mainly due to the disconnections of the non paying consumers, shifting of meters outside the consumer premises, implementation of High and Low Voltage Distribution System in rural and urban areas, proper accountal of energy and drive to curb theft of electricity etc.
It has been observed that the collection efficiency has gone up from 76.19 per cent to 83.91 per cent in rural and from 89.76 per cent to 98.85 per cent in urban area, he added.
