Seven Party Alliance rejects poll postponement demand
Kathmandu, Feb 25 (UNI) The Seven Party alliance today firmly rejected the demand of United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) to postpone the Constituent Assembly (CA) election by at least one month.
At a press conference today, the government's spokesperson and Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula said meeting of the top three leaders of Seven Party alliance rejected the demand put forward by the UDMF.
''Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala, UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal and Maoist Chairman Prachanda have made it clear that they will not comprise with anybody in case of the crucial elections'', Mr Sitaula said.
He added the government and UDMF had agreed to fulfill the latter's demand but a new demand of election postponement was raised by UDMF during the marathon meeting last night.
