SC issues notices on cops' bail in Sohrabuddin encounter case
New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) The Supreme Court today issued notices to state of Gujarat on the petitions of two senior police officers seeking bail in Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.
A bench comprising Justices Arijit Pasayat and P Sathasivam issued notices on the petitions of former Udaipur, Rajasthan SP Dinesh M N and former Gujarat DSP Narendra K Amin who have come in appeal against Gujarat High Court order, cancelling their bail.
The apex court will hear the petitions of the two former police officers on March 24.
The two petitioners are facing allegations of involvement in Sohrabuddin fake encounter case which took place on November 25, 2005 in Gujarat.
Gujarat government has also admitted in the apex court that Kausar Bi, wife of Sohrabuddin, might have also been killed though her death is yet to be confirmed.
Seven senior police officers including the then DIG(ATS) Gujarat D G Vanzara are facing trial for killing Sohrabuddin in the fake encounter.
