MNS workers arrested for attacking NGO volunteer
Mumbai, Feb 25 (UNI) Two persons, allegedly belonging to the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), have been arrested for attacking a volunteer working with the NGO ''Agni''.
Jamas John was clicking photographs of MNS activists during the recent violence in the metropolis when he was attacked by a group of people who were asking shop-keepers in Andheri to shut shops after Raj Thackeray was arrested on February 13.
John, who was badly attacked by the group, was admitted to a hospital for treatment. He had, however, managed to click the photographs of all his attackers and had submitted the same to the police.
Ashok Pai, another Agni volunteer, said the NGO's delegation had met Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister R R Patil who had assured of quick action.
