Govt neglected social welfare hostels, alleges Naidu
Hyderabad, Feb 25 (UNI) Opposition TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu today alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government had totally failed to provide amenities in social welfare hostels in the state.
Addressing a press conference here, soon after his party members were suspended from the Assembly for stalling the proceedings, he said the suspension was 'undemocratic' and the government was trying to stifle the opposition's voice in the House.
He alleged that the ruling party members were not allowing the House proceedings to be conducted in a democratic way and creating trouble in the House in a planned manner.
Mr Naidu said though the opposition had alerted the government on the need for providing amenities in the social welfare hostels, the government had failed to provide even bed sheets to the students.
On Congress MP U Arun Kumar's reported remarks on Dr B R Ambedkar, he said Mr Kumar had hurt the feelings of the Backward Classes and insulted the Constitution.
He demanded Mr Kumar's resignation or disqualification from Parliament.
