Four of family killed as train hits car
Ludhiana, Feb 25 (UNI) Four members of a family, including two children, were killed and two others injured when a passenger train rammed into their car at an unmanned level crossing between Jagraon and Ajitwal village, 30 km from here this evening, police sources said.
The accident occurred when the car tried to cross the level crossing and was hit by the 4LF Ludhiana-Ferozpur passenger train.
The train dragged the car a few yards before coming to a halt.
All the four, including two children and their parents died on the spot. The car was badly damaged in the collision.
The two injured which including a child and the driver of the car were admitted to the CMC hospital here.
This was the third such accident on an unmanned level crossing in the state in the last three months. All the three accidents had taken place on the Ludhiana-Ferozpur rail section.
The first such accident took place in Moga district in December last year, when a train rammed into a bus killing 16 people, including school children.
