Cong lodges complaint against Meghalaya Police
Shillong, Feb 25 (UNI) The Congress has lodged complaint with the Election Commission against Meghalaya police for forcefully pulling down party banners and flags from the premises of their supporters.
AICC Secretary in-charge Meghalaya Margaret Alva said there was no bar on the part of the political parties to put up flags and banners with the permission of the respective owners of the properties.
''If party sympathisers cannot show their support for the Congress from their respective houses, how can one campaign?'' Ms Alva asked the reporters here yesterday.
Ms Alva also urged other political parties to take up the matter with the election officials as it was in everybody's interest.
