Centre, UP govt responsible for poor state of farmers: SP
Lucknow, Feb 25 (UNI) Principal Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) today held responsible the wrong policies of the Central and the Uttar Pradesh government for the dismal state of the farmers.
''Even after 60 years of Independence, the farmers are committing suicide due to paverty,'' SP state unit acting president Shivpal Singh Yadav said while addressing media here.
The wrong policies of both the governments were responsible for the poor state of farmers, Mr Yadav maintained, adding '' it has hurt the national integerity.'' The United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) is holding a rally over the issue on March 16 in Azamgarh, the SP leader informed.
Several leaders, including the UNPA chairman Mulayam Singh Yadav, convenor Chandrababu Naidu, spokesperson Amar Singh, former chief ministers Om Prakash Chautala, Farukh Abdula and Babulal Marandi would participate in the rally, he added.
