BSF jawan found dead, chained to window grill

Basirhat, Feb 25 (UNI) Police today recovered the body of a BSF jawan from Chandakhali village under Hingalgunj Police Station of North 24 Parganas.

Police said the body was found chained to an window grill of his house.

The BSF constable was posted at Hingalgunj and reportedly went to a local fair last evening but did not return to the camp.

Police started investigation when the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Basirhat, Subrata Gangopadhyay and BSF official from the city rushed to Hingagunj to inquire into the matter.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem.

Police said the villagers have alleged that the jawan, who hailed from Jullander, was involved in an illicit relationship with a girl.
