Three children drown near Chandrapur

Nagpur, Feb 24 (UNI) Three children drowned after they went for swimming in a water-logged mine in Chandrapur district of the state.

The three children identified as Sumit Prakash Gawai (10), Suraj Ashok Vishwakarma (11) and Sahil Jadhav (10), had gone to the Chinora mines area, located about 60 kilometres from Chandrapur, for a picnic yesterday, police said.

However, they did not return till this afternoon.

A passer-by found the dead body of one of the boys floating in the water of the mine, police added.

Bodies of the other two boys were also found later.
