Huge response in XLRI's Lateral Placements

Jamshedpur, Feb 24 (UNI) The recently-concluded Lateral Placements at Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) here witnessed a huge success, with about a 100 offers being made to 90 eligible candidates of the B-school.

Geared towards students with prior industry experience, a plethora of offers were received in varied profiles such as Finance, Consultancy, Operations, Marketing, Human Resources among many others.

In total, over a 100 offers were made during the lateral season to 90 eligible lateral candidates for senior level management roles, the institute officials said today.

The average salary package offered was Rs 15 lakhs while the highest salary offered reached the Rs 22 lakh mark this season.

The financial and financial services domain was represented by the likes of Barclays,Lehman Brothers, Standard Chartered, JM Financial, Centrum, among many others who made unique offers for Investment Banking, Treasury Sales, Trading, Product Structuring, Wholesale Banking, Relationship Managementand M&A Advisory.

Consulting firms yet again were present in full strength,offering students the roles of Senior Level Consultants. Ernst&Young, Hewitt, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Mercer, KPMG, TSMG, Capgemini were the leaders in the pack recruiting students for consulting in various spheres- Banking&Financial Services, Human Consulting, Media&Entertainment, Retail to name a few.

This year was the growth in the number of General Management offers made by Indian Conglomerates and business houses. The Aditya Birla Group, The Hinduja Group, Essar, L&T, RPG made offers for top management roles to XLRI students. The Al Ghanim Group made international offers to multiple students.

The technology industry once again established XLRI as their preferred destination with multinationals such as IBM, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Infosys, HCL, WIPRO offering roles ranging from Business Development to Global Sales to Project Management, the sources said.
