Hyderabad, Feb 24 (UNI) Bihar Governor R S Gavai today urged the weaker sections of society, Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) to unite for demanding their socio-political and economical rights, irrespective of their political affiliations.

Participating in the 16th death anniversary of Easwari Bai, a leader of the Republican Party of India in the 1960s and mother of State Major Industries Minister J Geeta Reddy here, he said the philosophy of Babasaheb Dr B R Ambedkar was still relevant in the present conditions.

It was imperative to bring all the weaker sections of the society to the mainstream, he said, adding that ''it is unfortunate that the weaker sections are not united even after recognising that their communities are not getting due opportunities.'' Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari said national parties need to unite all people of the country without raising regional issues.
