Overseer arrested while accepting bribe
Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) Karnataka Lokayukta sleuths have arrested an Overseer of Shimoga while accepting bribe for showing official favour.
According to release here today, S Shankarappa, the overseer of MESCOM had demanded Rs 5,000 from A Ramesh bribe for giving electric connection to set up a borewell. However, the Overseer agreed to accept Rs 2000 to give materials from the stores of BESCOM Executive Engineer.
Shankarappa was caught redhanded while accepting the bribe of Rs 1900.
