NEC sales turnover to touch USD Two Billion by 2009
Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) Global leader NEC Corporation was olanning to achieve a sales turnover of USD Two Billion by 2009 from the present USD 1.55 billion, NEC President Yoshiaki Tauda said today.
Talking to newspersons here, he said NEC Displays Solutions(NECDS), a wholly owned company of NEC Corporation, has entered into a collaboration with a Hong Kong based TPV Technology (TPV) for the sales of LCD Desktop Display in India.
'' India market is growing fast and through this collaboration we expect to have turnover to the tune of USD 50 million by 2009'', he added.
Mr Yoshiaki said in the first year the sales was expected to touch seven million and 30 million next year.
He said NECDS, would sell its popular basic LCD desktop display, including 15-inch, 17-inch and 19-inch models for the mass consumer and B2B markets through TPV's sales and service network in India.
TPV expects sales expansion of LCD displays, as it contacted manufacturer and was planned to sell 500,000 numbers of displays within three years, he added.
TPV Director Mukesh Gupta said ''the Indian market for LCD products, especially equipment and gadgets with screens, monitors and displays had increased multifold in the last two years. The Indian market is matured to a point, where Computers with LCD monitors are in high demand. We are ideally positioned to make major inroads into those markets''.
