Man stabbed in Pune

Pune, Feb 23 (UNI) A 39-year-old man was brutally murdered by a group of people in broad daylight on the busy Pune-Nagar road here today, police said.

Senior police inspector Sunil Deshmukh told UNI that the deceased Shailash alias Papu Udgire was returning to his home from the vegatable market when he was attacked by the group this afternoon.

He said the motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained but previous enmity could be the reason for the murder.

Meanwhile, Police have identified two of the culprits as George Pinto and his accomplice Munna Shaikh, who were absconding after the incident.

A case of murder has been registered against the duo, Deshmukh said.
