Explosives recovered in Sheikhpura

Sheikhpura, Feb 23 (UNI) A large consignment of explosives, including Ammonium Nitrate and gelatin sticks, was recovered from Kare village under town police station of the district late last night.

District police superintendent Indranand Mishra here today said that acting on a tip off, the department conducted a raid at one Subodh Rai's residence and recovered nine quintals of Ammonium Nitrate, 55 kg gelatin sticks, and 30 bundles of fuse wire.

''The explosives were suspected to be supplied to the stone crushing merchant in the area, who used it in breaking the hillocks,'' Mr Mishra said adding the house owner Subodh Rai was earlier arrested at Akbarpur village in Nawada district with another consignment of exlosives.
