Rs 70 lakh morphine seized, 1 held
Barabanki, Feb 22 (UNI) Police here today busted a smuggling syndicate with the arrest of a candyman possessing morphine, estimated at Rs 70 lakh in the international market.
Acting on a tip-off, cops cordoned off the Jaidpur area and swooped upon Mohd Jaqir.
On being frisked, 700 gm psychotropic substance was recovered from his possession, Police Superintendent Pravin Kumar said.
Meanwhile, he was being interrogated.
