K'taka terror link: Software engineer arrested

Bangalore, Feb 22: The city police arrested yesterday night a Kerala-based software engineer working with a Multi National Company (MNC) in the city for allegedly having link with a terrorist organisation.

According to police, the arrested is identified as Yahya Khan, was picked up from a house in Gurapanapalaya in a joint operation conducted by Corps of Detectives (CoD) and local police. The arrested engineer, hailing from Kerala, was working with an US based MNC and suspected to be an activist of SIMI. It is said that Yahya had contacts with terror suspects Mohammed Asif, Asadullah Abubaker and their associates. The gang held several meetings in north Karnataka. They were preparing to strike at key installations in the state.

However, four of his alleged accomplices escaped during the police operation.
