J Lo gives birth to twins

New York, Feb 22 (UNI) Singer and Hollywood actor Jennifer Lopez has given birth to twins-- a boy and a girl-- early this morning at a hospital in Long Island here.

The girl was born at 0012 hrs (local time) and weighed 5 lbs 7 oz, and the boy followed at 0023 hrs (local time) weighing 6 lbs, the People magazine reported.

Jennifer and her singer husband Marc Anthony were delighted, thrilled and over the moon at the birth of their twins, Lopez's manager Simon Fields said.

The twins are the first children for Lopez, 38, and the fourth and fifth for Anthony, 39.

The couple celebrated the impending births with a baby shower in New York on January 19.

Lopez's friend Leah Remini calls her ''a born mom''. ''With our daughter, she's so great. Lets her go in her closet and play with her coats or jewellery. She's just so giving and loving,'' she said.

The singer announced her pregnancy on November 8, telling the crowd during her final Miami concert, ''Marc and I are expecting a baby!'' The two got married in June 2004.
