Guru Ghasidas Univ convocation

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Feb 22 (UNI) The sixth convocation ceremony of the local Guru Ghasidas University, which has completed 25 years, will take place on February 23.

''Planning Commission Member Bhalchandra Mungekar will be chief guest. For the first time, 82 students will be awarded MBBS degrees.

Besides, 16,521 graduates, 11,778 post-graduates, 372 engineering students will be awarded degrees. M Phil degrees will be awarded to 112 students and Ph D to 53 researchers, including 27 women, and 285 diplomas awarded,'' Vice-Chancellor J L Gupta told mediapersons here.

As many as 76 gold medals would be awarded to those figuring on the merit list, including 49 women.
