UP: Farmer held for attempting suicide

Bahraich, Feb 22: A farmer was arrested while attempting to commit suicide in front of the District Magistrate (DM) office here today.

On February 8, Rajesh Giri of Visheshvarganj had written to the District Magistrate about an alleged harassment by the rural bank manager and warned to self-immolate in front of the DM office if he did not get justice within 15 days, police said.

As soon as Giri reached the site today he was held by the police.
