Thane, Feb 22 (UNI) Ravindra Angre, the police officer who surrendered before the Thane police this morning, was produced before a first class judicial magistrate who remanded him in judicial custody till March 5.
The magistrate, M N Fatangade, fixed the hearing on Angre's bail application for February 25.
Police Inspector G S Madgulkar urged the court for Angre's police custody till February 29 for completing investigations.
The inspector told the court that many things needed to be investigated like why a bottle of poison was brought to the house of the complainant, Ganesh Wagh.
Angre's counsel Harshad Ponda submitted before the court that all allegations against his client were false. He contended that a civil case was being converted into a criminal one to increase the gravity of the case.
After hearing both the sides, the magistrate remanded Angre in judicial custody for a period of 14 days.
