ZP Vice President killed in road accident

Chitradurg, Feb 21: Zilla Panchayat Vice President Kenchappa, 52, along with his driver was killed on the spot when his car was hit by a speedy bus near Janakonda about 30 km from here last night.

Police said that the mishap occurred when the victims were returning to Hosadurg from Chitradurg and the private bus was on its way to Chitradurg from Shimoga.

The victims have been identified as Chitradurg ZP Vice President Kenchappa and car driver as Maruti 40, they said.

The bus driver has been taken into custody.
