Veolia, Doshion launch joint venture

Mumbai, Feb 21 (UNI) Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies, a global leader in water treatment business with a turnover of around 2.1 billion Euros, today announced a joint venture with Ahmedabad-based Doshion Limited.

With a 70:30 equity partnership between Doshion and Veolia to begin with, the new venture ''Doshion Veolia Water Solutions'' will cater to India and some South East Asian markets.

Speaking to reporters today, Doshion director Ashit Doshi said, ''Veolia is a perfect partner for us. It is known for use of innovative technologies, unique project management expertise and global experience in the water management business. With this JV we plan to bring in new technologies and bigger project managemenmt capabilities in the Indian sub continent.'' Veolia has operations in more than 55 countries and employs more than 7500 employees worldwide. The company has more than 100 years of experience and expertise in water treatment business.

Doshion employs more than 1300 people in the country. The company has water treatment plants installed in more than 40 countries for various industrial and government bodies.

The Indian water management industry is growing at a steady rate of close to 20 per cent and Doshion Veolia Water Solution is looking forward to play a vital role in addressing the ever-growing water treatment needs.

The growing infrastructure segment, especially clustered development of SEZ's, power plants, ports and airports, technology parks, integrated townships and entire spectrum of industries offers huge potential for water management business, Mr Doshi said.
