''Thiru Utsav'' at Thirunakkara temple from March 14
Kottayam, Feb 21 (UNI) The ''Thiru Utsav'' at the historic Thirunakkara Mahadevar temple will be held with various programmes from March 14 to 23.
Talking to newspersons here today, ''Utsav'' Committee President Jayan Thadathumkuzhi said ''Pakal Pooram,'' the main attraction of the Utsav, would be held on March 22, the ''Pallivetta Day.'' Twenty-two elephants would participate in the programme, he added.
Thiruvambady and Paramekkavu Devaswoms from Thrissur would stage the ''Kudamattom'' programme and 120 artists, led by Peruvanam Kuttanmarar and Mattannur Sankaran Kutty, would stage the ''Melam.'' Elaborate arrangements were made for the programme, he said.
Other cultural programmes would be staged on different days.
Chief Tantri Thazhamon Kandararu Maheswararu would hoist the temple flag to mark the commencement of the ''Utsav'' on March 14, he added.
