Sharif may support PPP's premier
Lahore, Feb 21 : Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz harif has said that his party could support a Pakistan People's arty Parliamentarians (PPPP) candidate for prime minister.
He said that the PPP has the highest number of seats in the ational Assembly, and added that the prime ministerial slot was heir prerogative.
Sharif said that a final decision on the candidate would be made ith consensus among the allies, and his party's Central Working ommittee would discuss the issue in a meeting on Thursday.
He said the independent candidates should support the democratic orces, and asked President Pervez Musharraf to resign after what e called the people's verdict against dictatorship.
Sharif will meet PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari here today o discuss the formation of a new government.
According to sources, Zardari continued consultations with his arty leaders on Wednesday and also met US officials.
