Night temperature witnesses steep rise in Punjab

Jalandhar, Feb 21 (UNI) The night temperature witnessed a steep rise in Punjab, thus providing some relief to the people after long wintry weather conditions.

According to a Defence spokesperson, the minumum temperature recorded at Admapur Air Force Station, near here was 7.6 degrees Celsius as against yesterday's 5.2 degrees.

The night temperature in the holy city of Amritsar settled at 8.6 from yesterday's 6.8 degrees, while at Halwara Airforce station near Ludhiana it increased to 9.6 degrees from 6.6 degrees recorded yesterday.

In Pathankot the minumum futher increased to 11.2 degees Celsius from yesterday's 8.6 degees Celsius, also in Bathinda, the night temperature moved to 11.0 degees Celsius from yesterday's 8.6 degees celsius.

The Defence Met Section has predicted cloudy to mainly overcast sky with possibility of rains at isolated places in the next 24 hours.
