NCP asks opposition not to politicise farmer suicides

Mumbai, Feb 21 (UNI) Asking the opposition not to politicise the farmer suicides issue, NCP today said its party supremo and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar was working on a scheme to alleviate their problems.

Talking to reporters here, party spokesman Prakash Binsale said ''The scheme, which is being prepared, is expected to get approval from the Union Cabinet soon.'' He alleged that the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance was defaming Mr Pawar by organising a series of 'morchas' and rallies on the issue and has been portraying itself as the saviour of the beleagured farmers.
