Devotees take holy dip on Magh Poornima
Lucknow, Feb 21 (UNI) Lakhs of devotees thronged various ghats across the state to take a dip in holy rivers on the occasion of Magh Poornima today.
After taking dip, the devotees offered 'puja' at various temples, which were beautifully decorated on the occasion.
In Allahabad, over 20 lakh devotees assembled at holy Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Sarasvati rivers.
A huge crowd of devotees was also witnessed at Kanpur ghats, including Bithoor, Anandeshwar, Sarsaiya, Gola and Sidhnathan. A procession of Lord Rangnath was also taken from Prayag Narain Shiwala temple to Sarsaiya ghat.
The same view was also captured in Varanasi, Mathura and Sitapur.
The occasion gained more importance today due to 'chandra grahan.' However, the 'grahan' could not be seen in North India.
The district police and administration had made elaborate security arrangements on the occasion.
