Dacoits kill one, loot more than Rs one lakh
Barrackpore, Feb 21 (UNI) A gang of armed dacoits today killed a woman and injured her husband before looting their jewellery shop at Kanchrapara Workshop Road under Beejpur police station in North 24 Parganas.
Police said the miscreants pushed Chandana Das (42) from her third floor balcony and assaulted her husband when the couple tried to resist the dacoits. The woman died on the spot.
Later, the miscreants looted more than Rs one lakh and valuables from the jewellery shop.
The body was sent for post-mortem and an investigation started in the matter, police added.
