CRPF constable arrested with IED in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 21 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable was arrested along with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and a hand grenade in south Kashmir, a police spokesman said.

He said during a routine checking at naka set up at Pulwama, the police arrested the constable of 183 CRPF, Mudasir Yousuf Bhat, resident of Batengoo Sopore.

He said one IED weighing about half-a kg covering in a steel glass and a hand grenade were recovered from his possession.

This is for the first time any CRPF constable was arrested by police along with arms and ammunition since surrendered militants and others joined the security forces in the valley.

Official sources said the constable was being questioned.
