Centre plans to construct 66,500 km long highway
Ahmednagar, Feb 21 (UNI) The centre plans to construct 66,500 km long national highway under the Golden Square project, Minister for Road Transport and National Highways K H Muniappa announced today.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Muniappa said the first phase of the Golden Square project is nearing completion.
''Along with the construction of national highways between Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, under this project, the highways situated in the surrounding areas of these cities will also be developed,'' he said.
The centre is also planning to construct four-laned, six-laned, and eight-laned roads under the project, Mr Muniappa added.
