BJP urges Lt Governor to suspend PWD Chief Engineer

Puducherry, Feb 21 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of BJP today urged Lt Governor Mukut Mithi to suspend PWD Chief Engineer C Anandane, who was chargesheeted by the CBI for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known source of income.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP State President M Visweswaran said though the Madras High Court had directed the administration to appoint a regular Chief Engineer for the PWD and not to give additional charge to Mr Anandane, the administration had given additional charge to Mr Anandane.

Morever, the National SC/ST Commission on the basis of a complaint received had urged the administration not to appoint Mr Anandane as the Chief Engineer.

However, the administration had ignored all these facts and promoted him as the Chief Engineer from the post of Executive Engineer.

Mr Visweswaran demanded that Mr Anandane be suspended to face the case, failing which the party would picket the Rajnivas here.
