Reservation to go easy with e-ticketing in UP

Bareilly, Feb 20: To ease the task of train passengers in getting reservation, the Indian Railways has authorised a private company in this district of Uttar Pradesh to issue online tickets.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has authorsied Balaji Pet Industries, situated at Civil Lines area here, to issue e-tickets.

Besides, they had been ordered to open as many as 3,000 reservation centres across the country.

Balaji Pet Industries Managing Director Sanjay Agarwal today told to the sources, ''it is happening first time that any private company has been given the charge of issuance of waiting list reservation tickets, besides e-tickets.'' ''We have also been authorised to cancel the journey tickets, issued from any rail ticket reservation counter,'' he informed.

The IRCTC had also given the franchise to two more companies, but they were only authorised to issue e-tickets, Mr Agarwal added.The manging director further informed that selection of outlets at 1,000 places had been completed and soon the passengers would also be able to avail general tickets from these counters.

Opening of these counters will also provide employment to the youth, he added.
