Jute diversification activities picking up across country

Bangalore, Feb 20: Karnataka Textiles Developement Commissioner Ashok Kumar Manoli today welcome the spread of diversification activities to other states from West Bengal states in the country, wider use of jute.

Speaking after inaugurating a week-long Jute fair here he said the diversification activities had picked up more in southern India especially Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. New Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh were the leaders in this aspect.

Indian jute market has diversified bringing in many new non-conventional products commonly known as jute diverisified products, matching the modern life styles, he said.

About 30 jute stalls from jute entrepreneurs from across the country are showcasing the environment-fiendly jute lifestyle proudcts like jute jewellary, fancy shopping and carry bags, handicrafts, wall hangings, gifts, novelties and home textiles.
