Judge forwards complaint on land issue to CVO for inquiry
Puducherry, Feb 20 (UNI) Former Congress leader from Mahe region of the Union Territory Valavil Sudhakaran has moved a local court seeking a Vigilance inquiry against Puducherry Health Minister E Valsaraj.
In his petition filed before the Chief Judge D Krishna Raja, who is also the Special Judge for Vigilance and Anti-corrouption, Mr Sudhakaran cited widespreaded irregularities in the acquisition of one acre and 87 cents of land for setting up the Mahe Cooperative Institute of Information Technology for which Mr Valsaraj is the president.
Provision of a higher value for the land had cost the government to the tune of Rs 1.27 crore, he pointed out.
Admitting the petition the judge forwarded the complaint to the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) to register a case and inquire into it and submit a report to the court before March seven.
