Govt to construct buildings for welfare hostels
Hyderabad, Feb 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Minister P Subhash Chandra Bose today said the state government would construct buildings for social welfare hostels and modernise them during this year.
To a question by MLCs Ch Ramaiah, Dr K Rajeshwar and D Rami Reddy in the Council, Mr Bose said the government had allocated Rs 21.50 crore to repair old buildings and construct new ones.
As many as 1,553 welfare hostels were run in government-owned buildings and 803 in private buildings.
More than 250 vacant posts for wardens in the hostels would be filled up at the earliest, he added.
