Dweep Setu arrives in M'lore port after a gap

Mangalore, Feb 20 (UNI) After a gap of about 18 months, the passenger ship Dweep Setu from Lakshadweep arrived at the old port here today.

The ship, having capacity to carry 150 passengers, would be anchored at the port till February 21 before beginning its return journey. The ship would arrive in the city again on February 24.

Though no special permission was required to travel between Mangalore and Lakshadweep, the ship had stopped its service since last one and a half years.

Lakshadweep comprising of ten tiny islands was located at a distance of about 144 nautical miles away from Mangalore.
