Distt edu officer booked for forging handicap certificate
Yamunanagar, Feb 20 (UNI) Police has booked District Education Officer here for fraud and forgery for allegedly forging a handicap certificate and taking kickbacks from purchase of school goods and uniforms.
A case was registered against Moola Ram in Yamunanagar City police station under sections IPC 420, 467, 468, 471, police said today.
Moola Ram, who was due to retire on August 30 last year, allegedly produced a forged handicapped certificate for himself on July 25, issued allegedly from Sonipat Government Hospital. He wanted to avail of two years extension of his service.
He was already under suspension, along with two other members of the purchase committee after a department probe also found that he bought uniform, fans and desk among others worth Rs 32 lakh without calling any tenders, police sources said today.
