Cong asks Opposition not to disrupt Budget Session
New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) Asserting that systematic attempts had been made by some sections of the Opposition to subvert the functioning of Parliament ever since the UPA Government came to power, the ruling Congress today appealed to all the Opposition parties to allow the smooth functioning of the Budget session beginning on February 25.
''Our sincere appeal to all political parties to cooperate in running the businnes of Parliament and in discussing important pieces of legislation and debating issues concerning the common man in a spirit of mutual cooperation and in a constructive manner,'' Congress spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan told reporters.
She said during every Parliament session, the running of both Houses was brought to a standstill and issues not discussed in a constructive manner.
The Winter session also saw little business as most of it was eaten up by distruptions and adjournments.
