CBI files affidavit before HC
Kochi, Nov 26 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today filed an affidavit before the Kerala High Court in a case seeking investigation into the irregularities in the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco).
The affidavit, submitted by Superintendent P Vikram, said instances leading to prima facie criminality was brought about in the matter.
The CBI also filed in a sealed cover the detailed report regarding the work done on it.
Quo warranto writ petition was also filed before the High Court seeking removal of State Civil Supplies Minister C Divakaran and Revenue Minister K P Rajendran, in connection with a recent incident in which two Thiruvananthapuram orporation Councilors were released from police custody allegedly at their instance.
Meanwhile, a Division Bench of the Kerala High Court, comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justice K M Joseph today directed the State to file objection, if any, to the quo warranto writ petitions filed seeking removal of State Ministers C Divakaran and K P Rajendran.
Petitioner Paulachan Puthuppara, a lawyer from Kochi, said the Ministers had violated their oath of office and they had no right to continue as Ministers.
