'Ashtadhatu' idol missing from govt warehouse

Pratapgarh, Feb 20 (UNI) A precious 'ashtadhatu' idol was today reported missing from a government warehouse here.

The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Uttar Pradesh police had recovered this idol from Raniganj area.

In 2002, the idol, estimated at Rs 1.5 crore, was kept at the government warehouse.

Meanwhile, Police Superintendent R K Srivastava said an investigation was underway and anything could be said only after the presentation of the report.
