Rupee opens weaker at 39.79/80 per dollar

Mumbai, Feb 19: The Rupee today opened slightly weaker against US Dollar at 39.79/80 as compared to the previous close of 39.77/78 per dollar on the prospect of capital inflows amid jittery global risk appetite.

The partially convertible rupee resumed the day on weak note, losing ground from the previous close. The benchmark sensex fell 0.4 per cent yesterday, snapping a three-day winning streak, dealers said.
