JD(S) welcomes presidential assent to DC recommendations
New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) The Janta Dal(S) today welcomed the presidential assent for the new Delimitation Commission (DC) recommendations for the Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies and urged the Election Commission (EC) to hold elections at the earliest in Karnataka, which is under President's Rule since November 28.
JD(S) Secretary General and spokesman K Danish Ali said the government had already delayed the acceptance of DC's recommendations. ''Now it is only proper for the EC to hold the election at the earliest without extending the President's rule.'' The state is under President's Rule since November 28 and the new Assembly has to be constituted before May 29.
