Employees stir affects state administration

Imphal, Feb 19 (UNI) The functioning in the State Secretariat was affected for the second day today, following the indefinite strike of the Manipur Secretariat Service Association (MSSA).

The MSSA employees had launched an indefinite strike yesterday to protest the decision of the state government to recruit 25 section officers in the Secretariat.

The MSSA has been demanding to fill the vacant posts of the 25 section officers on promotion basis.

About 800 members attended office, however, they did not do any work as a sign of protest.
