BJP Mahila Morcha demands dismissal of Maharashtra govt
Varanasi, Feb 19 (UNI) BJP Mahila Morcha vice president Dr Veena Pandey today demanded dismissal of Maharashtra government alleging that it has failed to protect the lives and property of North Indians there.
In a statement, Dr Pandey, here today said the attack on the North Indians in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai, was undemocratic and anti-national.
The Maharashtra government has miserably failed to control the violence and has no moral right to remain in power, she added.
''Some political leaders were trying to spread the poison of regionalism and casteism for narrow political gain,'' Dr Pandey said, adding as per the Indian Constitution every citizen has a right to live, settle and earn money in any part of the country.
A massive rally of the Mahila Morcha has been organised in Ramlila ground at Delhi on February 21 in which lakhs of women would participate and raise their voice about women reservation.
A Morchas' delegation would soon meet President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and appeal for their intervention in the Maharashtra issue.
