Three people buried under snow avalanche in Uri, one body recovered
Baramulla, Feb 18 (UNI) Three people were buried alive under a huge snow avalanche in Uri sector in north Kashmir late night, official sources said.
They said three people were buried under an avalanche when they were collecting firewood at Mochi Naka in Uri sector.
Later, other villagers of the Mochi Naka recovered body of one Abdul Jamal Naik while searching for remaining two identified as Abdul Aziz Naik and Mohammad Ramzan Hajam.
The authorities had already warned people living in upper reaches to avoid going out of their houses unnecessarily because of the threat of snow avalanches following heaviest snowfall in 20 years.
More than two dozen people, including soldiers and porters, have so far lost their lives after they were buried under snow avalanches in the valley since January this year.
