Three children drown in Krishna river

Kolhapur, Feb 18 (UNI) Three children drowned in Krishna river, near Shirtee Village in Shirol tehsil of the district.

Shubham Vittal Bhandare (8), Sanee Sanjay Bhandare (8) and Somnath Jaipal Bhandare (12) were swept away in the surging waters yesterday while they were taking a bath, police said.

The children had not informed their parents. When they did not return in the evening, the parents started looking for them and found their clothes near the river bank.

The bodies were fished out from the river by villagers, police added.
